Decorating Your Home For Spring!

#36 spring home decor

It’s that time of year again where Spring is just around the corner and the warmer weather cant come soon enough! I love decorating my home for every season/holiday but Spring is definitely at the top of my favorites list.

Here are five easy ways to decorate your home for spring!

  1. Bright With White

Spring is all about new beginnings and starting off with a clean slate, especially after all that spring cleaning and de-cluttering you’ve been doing (cough cough). This is the time of year to take all your white décor pieces and linens out of hiding. Try to keep things as bright, white, crisp, and clean as possible.

2. Flowers And Greenery

Nothing says spring like flowers! Having a mix of both real and faux flowers in your home can make a huge difference in both the look and feel of your home in any and every room. I prefer to have real flowers in our kitchen so I am constantly around them and am reminded to tend to them plus all guests entering our home get to enjoy them. This year I treated myself to these as a special birthday gift to myself.

3. Pastel Colors

Focusing on pretty pastel colors will not only give your home a Spring feel but also get it ready for the Easter holiday. When Easter does come around you might only have to make small tweaks, if any. This is one of the specific times in the year I like to change my coffee table books around making sure the books with the colorful covers are displayed. One of my favorite books is here, I love it so much I bought it twice by accident and just put the duplicate copy on one of my bathroom shelves.

  1. Candles And Scents

I have two different sets of candles, one set consists of candles that I burn, the other are my “show candles” or candles I put out for decorative purposes only that are saved and stored away at the end of each season. I love changing my candles out for seasons/holidays. There are so many different candles available that come in so many different sizes, colors, and scents its fun to change them out seasonally. This candle  is by far the best smelling candle I own, and with its white holder I’m able to keep it out all year long. I keep all my candle wicks at proper length and able to easily burn again thanks to this handy tool. I also love reed diffusers they are a pretty, inexpensive décor piece, especially in bathrooms and on coffee tables, and they require no attention or maintenance. This one is by far my favorite!

5. Throws And Throw Pillows

Perhaps one of the most easy to display, as well as easy to store, Spring décor pieces are throws and throw pillows. These items can instantly update the look of any room. In my living room our couches are beige so our throw pillows stay pretty neutral throughout the year but for the Spring Time I love adding muted pastel colored pillows to the mix. I just purchased this pillow and I love the hint of color it added to our living room. I’m currently looking for a blush colored throw blanket to also add to our living room, maybe something with a funky texture to give the room a more eclectic vibe.
